I cleared the summer weeds and grass out of my low tunnel and planted a fall garden on September 18. The tunnel is roughly 25 feet long and sporting 6 mil poly. I thought I'd take you for a tour and show you how things are growing!

They're quite jurassic in size and have set some wee baby gourds already. How did they accomplish this you ask? With the help of bumblebees.
One by one, the ladies line up to flirt with the men across the driveway. This year the grass is so tall you can't even barely pick out the rams amongst it.
We will be breeding in November! Until then, keep it rated PG!
Okay, so it's gorgeous here in the fall. We've been having epic fall weather, too. Not very windy, warmish, sunny, leaves every warm color under the rainbow...
I have seen my first yellow leaves of fall... (I think depression is setting in!) As the weather cools, I am gnawing my nails worrying over the coming winter, thinking about how few cold-weather clothes I even own, and agonizing over how much more hay I need to bring in. I am feeling this strange sense of impending doom. I know, really melodramatic, right? Well, I haven't had fall or winter for nigh on 13 or 14 years. Give me a break!
Sad story. I've been out finishing up the mowing of the pastures. We need to force a little more green and even out the hillocks.
I could hear someone sniffing loudly. Spooky enough that we were trying to put scary images on the inside of our window shade for the neighbors to see, but now I was no longer alone! Someone was there.
